Performing Opportunities in Barnsley

Barnsley Town Centre Management are looking for some buskers to perform in the town centre on various dates from May to October 2009.  There’ll be some specialist markets taking place in the town on Sundays over the next few months, so they’re looking for musicians to provide enertainment during those times.

There’s no fee, but you’ll be able to collect money and the markets should attract plenty of people so there could be a good audience waiting! Also, you don’t need a busking licence if you volunteer for one of the available slots.

Here are the dates available:

Sundays: 3 and 24 May, 21 June, 12 July, 2 and 23 August, 13 September, 4 and 25 October.

To find out more and volunteer to perform, contact Gemma Carter, Town Centre Management Assistant on 01226 772 149.

Busker wanted to appear on Big Brother 10

Channel 4’s Big Brother are looking for a busker to appear as a housemate on Big Brother 10.  As well as recruiting housemates at the open auditions, the Big Brother organisers always look for some specific types of people to feature in the show to get in touch with directly, and this year they’re looking for a busker.

So, if you’re free for 3 months in Summer 2009 and fancy skipping the queues at the open auditions, get in touch with Dawn at Channel 4 on 0208 222 4558 for a chat.
