East Midlands

Places in the East Midlands where a licence is needed to busk, or performers are required to adhere to a council code of conduct:

Amber Valley, Derbyshire – You may need a licence to busk here, contact the council on 01773 570222 to check.

Melton Borough – Some areas of the town centre are licenced for buskers. These include Nottingham Street, High Street, Cheapside, South Parade, King Street and Market Place, Play Close, New Park, Priors Close and Egerton Park. In all others areas busking is not permitted.

Nottingham – Buskers are required to apply for a licence and adhere to a code of conduct. More information about both can be found here on Nottingham City Council’s website.

    Have just phoned Amber Valley and spoken to Heather in Licensing. She says I would need a temporary event notice at a cost of £21 every time I want to play in Ripley, Derbyshire. Is this normal?
    Have recently retired and need to supplement my pension somehow. Any tips?
